I'm trying to export my outlook folders (including sub-folders) to an
external hard drive. The file shows up but is not operable, it won't open.
I've tried single folders as well and nothing seems to work. Any
suggestions?

Why not just copy your .pst file? Perhaps if you back up and tell us what
you are trying to accomplish by exporting, then someone can give you advice
on the problem
