Hi, no that's what I find baffling, there is no Delete. I only have Edit
Rule, Open and Close ...nor is there any option to Delete or even Reply if I
select Open to bring up message in its own window...I have also found a
similar problem while attaching thru Photoshop: I will select from the Edit
menu> Attach to eMail and I get the same window with no option to Send...only
Save, Save Attachment or Print. I tried closing the message and I am prompted
to either Send or Save...I tried saving and I couldn't find the message
later.. end up having to Save to desktop then Open mail and create an all
new message, browsing for attachment, etc.......thank you

I just checked when an alert popped up here and there was a delete X in the
lower left hand corner of the alert. Just to be sure we're using the same
terminology an alert is a small blue window that appears to give
notification of a new email and it fades away on its own after a number of
seconds.

Hi:
Unfortunately no little "X". These are the preferences I have set up:under
Adv Email Options>When New Items Arrive>Show Envelope in Notification Area
set to 7 sec/20% transparency...however. this kind of Alert NEVER happens. I
always get the pop up dialog box with New Item Alerts and the problems
already listed...am I missing some Preference? thnx

If the items get moved from the Inbox then the alert won't show up.

that's ok; the original issue is still what i'd like to resolve...I do get
the New Item Alerts message as outlined previously but it seems to defeat the
purpose of it if I can only view messages, no Delete No replying. I have to
close out and return to Outlook's "main" window and do all tasks from there.
Is this all the feature allows and I could be misunderstsanding its use?
Thanks

Hmmm, I'm going to have to take a look at the new items dialog since I've
never used it.
