Can't create new e-mails

Hi

Turned my computer on tonight and found out that after running Outlook 2003,
tried to write a new e-mail and it's not bold, ie: can't click on it to open
a new e-mail - Same with Word, new document won't opne - A few functions are
disabled....

Please help

Any error messages?. Have you tried to reboot.?

yes, several time and a lot of functions in outlook/word are disabled?

Have you run a detect and repair from the help menu?
