Where is the group policy option to enable or disable 'Word as email editor' in Outlook XP?

I have one group policy that allows certain users to choose whichever
format they want for emails, and another that forces them to use html.
I want to create a new policy that will force some of the users that
currently have the latter group policy applied to use Word as email
editor instead.Where is the option for this? We have a Windows 2000
domain.

Thanks.

Check your resource kit for your version of Office.

After furious head scratching, QH asked:

What's the justification for forcing a particular format of email on
people? Just interested.

We need to force users to use this format as otherwise they cannot send
links to files in a URL style format, and the managers want the formats
to be uniform.

I had a look in the Office XP resort kit, but all I found is that
Public Folder based item for Outlook security settings. I dont think
the format can be set here, and in any case I want to alter the
existing format (which is set in group policy).

Thanks.

You will need to add the outlk10.adm template into the User
Configuration/Administrative Templates of the GPO.  I think this template
should be in the resource kit.  If not you can download it from Microsoft.
The setting you want is in the Tools| Options / Mail Formaet / Message Format
section.

As an FYI, you may also want to look at this 3rd party tool, called Outlook
Profiler.

http://goffconcepts.com

We run it in our login script...nice features, creates the Outlook profiles
for our users, so we don't have to touch their PC's (we have a lot of shared
machines, so staff moves around).

There is a cost for it, but I think it is pretty reasonable.
