Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.
After furious head scratching, MJ asked:

While Milly has the most appopriate answer to your question, I'll take a
shot at it, on the off-chance that you are receiving e-mails from your
friends (by this, I mean they actually intended to send you an e-mail, and
it came in as an .eml format). I want to note that doing this will have it
try to open the e-mail in Outlook, but that it may not show up properly.
Assuming you're on Windows 2000 or XP, go into "My Computer". On the Tools
Menu, click Folder Options . Then, inside of Folder Options, click on "File
Types". Scroll down to the .eml extension, and click the "Change" button.
Find Outlook.exe and select that. Click OK, then OK again (until you've
closed the Folder Options box) and you should be set.
As I noted above, .eml files are mainly used by Outlook Express (AFAIK) so
they may not open properly in Outlook or any other program for that matter.

Patrick. I followed the directions. Now when I try to open the eml attachment
I get an "opening mail attachment" popup asking if I want to "open" or "save"
the attachment. I select "open" and a new email window opens with the cursor
blinking in the To: box with the message(2).eml(12KB) shown in the Attach...
box. I try to open and it repeats to a new email.
Any suggestions.
