Hi guys,

I have an exchange mailbox on server so and so. In this profile i also have
access to an additional mailbox called Support. So in outlook i have the
following structure:
Outlook Today - Mailbox - Me
       Inbox
       Calendar
       etc
Mailbox - Support
       Inbox
Personal folder
       Inbox

What i need to do is create a rule that moves any message coming into
Mailbox - Support, which has its own email address, to my personal folders
inbox.

Any rules i create will only seem to work on mail coming into Mailbox - Me.
I am an owner of Mailbox - Support but i cannot the folder administration
button is disabled on its inbox so i cannot create rules here either.

Any ideas?

Aloha Koos" N,

Why not just assign the Support mailbox's e-mail address to your own mailbox?
If you're just going to move all of the mail from that mailbox to your own
anyhow...

Well i am not the only one with access to the support mailbox. There are 6
other people that need access to this. The entire reason for this is that we
have been given a mailbox size limit of 30MB for this mailbox. Even though
we try to archive it on a 2 day basis we get lots of big attachments in this
mailbox and we run out of space on a daily basis. We have tried to get the
IT guys to increase the mailbox size but they are refusing to do this. So we
need another solution....

How about this idea. Add the support address to your mailbox as Ben
suggested. Then create a rule in your mailbox that moves all messages sent
to that address to a separate folder, and finally share that folder with the
other people who need access.

How do i add this mailbox to my mailbox? I have added the mailbox from the
advanced page of the properties of my mailbox. This however creates a
separate mailbox in the tree as follows:

> > > >Outlook Today - Mailbox - Me
           > >> > Inbox
           > >> > Calendar
           > >> > etc

> >> > Mailbox - Support
           > >> > Inbox

When i try to drag and drop the inbox from support or the actual mailbox
into the top mailbox i get an error saying that
"Cant move the item. Special folders including the inbox, contacts
folders.....cannot be moved"

We are using Outlook 2000...

???

Adding the support address to your mailbox requires Active Directory Users
and Computers, so it's something an admin would have to do. The end result
is that support@company.com would be attached to your mailbox the same way
that yourname@company.com is.

As I think about it now, this approach has the disadvantage that you
couldn't easily send anything *from* that support address. It might be
better, therefore, to set up the support mailbox to forward everything to
you, not keeping a copy in the support mailbox, and again this is something
that has to be set in Acitve Directory. As before you could write a rule to
move anything sent to that support address to a separate support folder in
your mailbox which you could then share. Since you still have the mailbox,
however, you haven't lost the option of sending from that address.

Why don't you archive the e-mail as msg file in a directory? Everybody
(having read access to the directory) can read the e-mail and answer
them as well.

Create a distribution group that contains these 7 people and assign
support@yourdomain.com address to the group.
