How does Outlook datestamp email?

Our company has 4 PCs all running Outlook 2003 - we have no server.
Each PC accesses the same email account at our ISP and each version of
Outlook is set to not delete email from the server. Consequently
everyone sees all the email for the company.

My question involves the datestamp on incoming emails - different PCs
sometimes have different datestamps on the same email and they are not
related to the actual time that Outlook downloaded the email from the
server.

So how does Outlook establish the datestamp details?

Thanks in advance,

Paulg7083

There are multiple date/time stamps associated with every message.  To which
one do you refer?

The date that actually appears against the email in the Outlook 2003
inbox.

Received date, created date, or modified date?
