I have just set up Outlook 2002 on my new laptop and I want it to check for
new messages say every 5 minutes automatically and I can't find a way to do
that.

Can you help me?

The recommended minimum value is 10 minutes.  While viewing your Inbox,
press ALT-CTRL-S and adjust the value found in the "Schedule and automatic
send/receive every XX minutes" option.
