I've got an odd situation in that on the same computer Outlook cannot send
out emails but Outlook Express can. This is even with not only a new profile
in Outlook but even a new local user on the system. BUT - when you're
looking at the account properties in Outlook the "Test Account Settings"
button *will* send out the message.

A couple other things: This very small network has an SBS 2003 server and
two client computers. Outlook is not configured with an Exchange account on
either computer. This problem exists on both computers. I have not yet tried
telnetting to the mail servers

Any thoughts??

What account are you using?

Turns out it was an SMTP server problem. As luck would have it a second
outgoing server I tried to use as a test also had trouble. Third time's the
charm.

Thanks.
