In outlook 2003,there were two boxes at the bottom of the window to
add a contact and category to the task.  In 2007, this seems to be
missing.  How can I link the a task to a contact(s).  I often found
this usefull.

Tools>Options>Contact Options>Show Contact Linking on All Forms.
In the open Task window, click Categorize on the ribbon.

The new default is that it is turned off - Brian's shown you how to turn it
back on.
