Is the scanpst.exe that came with Outlook 2007 same as that of 2003?
Scenario:
my current laptop runs outlook 2007 on Vista. I need to check several
pst files using scanpst.exe. I planned to copy my pst files to another
computer and check it there so I can continue to work without any
performance degradation on my current laptop while the other PC scans
the pst in parallel.
However, the other PC runs outlook 2003 on XP. If they're not the same
versions, can it check OL2007 pst files or will it corrupt them?
Thanks.

Outlook 2007 PSTs contain a little more information that Outlook 2003 PSTs,
so I don't know. However, it would be simple to test. Make a copy of the
PST in question and run SCANPST on that.

They are different. I had trouble using Outlook 2003's version against
Outlook 2007 during the beta. I doubt they would bother to fix that.
