i had this working on the main computer but the hard drive locked up,
blowing the power supply and the mainboard.  Intel 440 bx.
now got my older computer working with W2k and Office 2003 and set my
outlook up per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287604/en-us
to work but i still haven't figured out how to get it working.  it indicates
my user name or password is not right but i am connecting through hotmail
ok.   i need to get on msn.com so i can pull off my mail into my folders...

I am using my DSL line.  the DSL modem has a wireless connection that hooks
me to the internet.  one thing about my setup now is i am using W2k instead
of XP which the blown computer was using.  i thought when i was hooking up
outlook on that computer, i had to download something for outlook from
microsoft.  that was about 3 years ago and my brain gets a little fuzzy with
age.  i will check out your links.  charlie

Task 'MSN - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the
server was interrupted.  If this problem continues, contact your server
administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).  The server
responded: -ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!'

Glad to help again. :)

You could use the outlook connector too, instead of HTTP. In fact, at the
end of june you'll need to switch to it as they are ending http support.

Just upgraded to another drive and installed XP.  I think that was needed to
install the outlook connector.  now outlook is working fine.  thanks,
