I get this message to OK before Outlook will start.

I own Office 2007 and Stuffit (not hot copies).

What did I do wrong on the install?

As you can see, trying to use the Subject header to include the details
rather than as an introduction doesn't work because it can get
truncated.  What was the ENTIRE error/warning message?

Have you tried running Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe")?
That will NOT load any add-ons that you have installed into Outlook.
