In one office we have two people with the same PC
Windows Windows 2000 Professional
Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195
Office XP service pack 3
I.E. 6.0 SP1

I have a problem with one users pc.  He is trying to open
powerpoint document. He posted in a workspace area on our
portal and gets this error: You have insufficient
privileges to access this document.  If he goes to
another PC with his id he can open the powerpoint
document. If someone else tries with their id on his PC
they get the same error message. He compared his setting
to the other and could not find any difference.

Things we checked:

1. Try deleting The Temporary Internet Files

2. Cookies are enabled. If the security level is set to
med and also tried low.

3. Logged on with his permissions to another 2 other PC's
in the office and he can access the ppt file.

4. He Compared all Internet options settings could not
find a difference.

5. Checked windows explorer: tools\folder options\file
types\ ppt\advanced\set to open, only have checked:
browse in same window

It is only on the one PC that the PPT file was created.
any suggestions?

I don't know that we've run across this issue before in this newsgroup. It
sounds like a Sharepoint issue, to tell the truth. Have you tried those
newsgroups? If you don't get an answer here, you might try them...
