We are on XP.  When we try to run XP presentations on 2000, things don't always work correctly.  Annimations don't work, white squares appear around pictures, embedded videos do not play.  Is there a way to create and save a presentation on XP and know that it what it will look like on 2000?
Have tried saving as a 2000 file and I get really large files

PowerPoint 2002 and 2000 share the same file format, but, as can be
expected, more recent versions of any software application will helpefully
have new and better functions that older versions don't recognize.  When
playing presentations created in PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 in earlier versions
of PowerPoint there are many things that won't work the same.  One way to
view the presentation as it was designed without the version of PowerPoint
it was created in is to download and install the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer.
You won't be able to edit the file, but you'll be able to see it as it was
intended.

However, you refer to "embedded" videos.  Videos are always linked and never
embedded, which means that the video files must accompany the presentation
when you move or distribute it.  Even then the links may break unless you
have linked them correctly.  See:

Sounds/Movies don't play or links break when I move or email a presentation
