Sound fade

I'm an absolute novice when it comes to adding sounds to presentations

My immediate problem is that I have sounds allocated to one or more slides.

The presentation is a manual one as there may be questions or additional
ponts to be made as I go along.

When I click to move on from the last slide allocated to a sound the music
stops abruptly.

I would like to fade the music out along with the picture but only when I am
ready for it to happen

Is this possible?

PowerPoint doesn't have this function.  You would need to edit the sound file
outside of PowerPoint, but that assumes that you know when it is going to end.
You might want to look at Volume Control, a commercial add-in for PowerPoint at
http://officeone.mvps.org/volctrl/volctrl.html.

It's possible to do it outside of PowerPoint.
