I'm creating powerpoint presentations at my home and taking them to a
computer to display which only has the Powerpoint viewer.
They had an earlier viewer which wasn't showing all the animated gifs...but
with this newer viewer they loaded my powerpoint presentations have the
following problems:
  1) no sound
  2) Action buttons only make the hand show up if the cursor is around the
border of the button
  3) If I don't jump to the next slide after so many seconds it takes me
back to slide 1.

I'm thinking I need them to load the whole Powerpoint package.   I brought
up the viewer by itself and didn't see any where there were options/settings
to fix these issues.

Help!

If you are using PowerPoint 97 or 2000, the new Viewer will not play your audio
or video files.

If your action buttons have "no fill color", only the outer perimeter will be
"hot".  This can be corrected by filling the button with any color.

I have not experienced the third problem.  What are your slide transition
settings?  Is your presentation set to Kiosk?

The old viewer is still available.  You can download it from

In PPT, choose Slide Show, Set up show ...
Under "Show options" look to see if "Loop continuously until ESC is checked"
If so remove the check, save the presentation and try it that way.

Jay,

The old viewer (circa 97) does not support animated gifs (amongst other things!)

1) Did you copy your sound to the other computer and place it in the same directory structure?

cheers
