Bitmaps in Power Point

Does Power Point read bitmaps.  I have Office 2003 and I
cant't seem to open up a bitmap project.

You can insert bitmap images in PowerPoint, but you can't *open* them.  What
type of image do you have and what do you want to do with it?  You refer to a
bitmap project - - where did it come from, i.e. what application?
