If you need to play a presentation, but do not have the
application PowerPoint installed you can use the free
viewer application. Download from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?
FamilyID=428d5727-43ab-4f24-90b7-
a94784af71a4&DisplayLang=en

If you need to create a PowerPoint slideshow you will need
the application PowerPoint installed. This is usually one
component of Microsoft Office.

Dear User,
For creating ppt slides you have to download Powerpoint .
This page will help you to choose the right version of Powerpoint .
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00019.htm

In order to view Powerpoint shows, then you can download a powerpoint viewer
from

PowerPoint is a program that is not part of the operating system
Windows XP.  It has to be purchased seperately and cannot be downloaded
(though a trial version may be available at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/editions/prodinfo/standardtrial.mspx).

Check with your school's IT group or whoever supplies your other
software.  If you have such a source, the academic price is likely to
be very competitive.  Alternatively, check a retail office supply or
computer store for the software.  It comes by itself or bundled in a
Office suite (includes other programs) and pricing is either commercial
or 'student and teacher' with different licensing for each.

You may also want to check the 'How to Buy' page at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/howtobuy/default.mspx
