I asked this question early, but I need to clarify. There are five sections
to this presentation. I need each section to be numbered 1- the end page of
the section. This means that checking the number slides tab won't work. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to number your pages go into view, click master, and you will see
the page number on the bottom right hand side. I hope this helps

If you are using PPT 2002/2003 you could create 5 master
slides, one for each section. Add text like "Section 1 :"
before the page number variable (#). Auto page numbering
will still be continuous, but you syllabus can
list 'section 1, slides 1-10' 'section 2, slide 11-20' etc.
