I want a song to play throughout my presentation (starting at the first
slide). I've added a song, and it starts at the first slide, but when it
transitions to the next slide then song starts over. How do I keep the song
going, even when slides are changing?

Just insert the music on the first slide and then follow the info at:

Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)

in 2003: go into your animation settings and set the
number of slides you want your music to play...
