Three questions, MVPs:
1. Is there a way to put pictures on the surface of a shape and make it
assume the perspective of the shape when 3D is applied?
2. Also why are there cliparts that won't do 3D?
3. And how does one create shapes and clipart that can do 3D?

Yes, you can take an AutoShape and fill it with a picture and then use the
3D Effects option to play with the perspective.
For your other questions, you'll have to look at a 3D program - you can also
take a look at this 3D PowerPoint add-in:
