Friends,

I have two computers which both have Office 2003 installed.  When Powerpoint
2003 is run on one machine it is possible to edit Organizational Charts by
double-clicking on the chart object, which loads Org Chart 2.0.  On the
other computer when you double-click on an Org Chart in Powerpoint 2003 the
error "The microsoft organization chart server application can't be
found...etc."  Org Chart 2.0 is installed on both machines in the same
location, i.e. \program files\common files\microsoft shared\.  I installed
msoc2.exe on the problem machine - didn't help.  I've google this issue, but
can't find a clue.  Any help will be appreciated.  Victor

This should help out a bit.

**Can't edit Org Chart, Graph, Excel (error msg: "server application, source
file, or item can't be found")

Thanks for the response.  Since I first posted I experimented with another
machine.  Specifically, I tried to edit an older powerpoint file with an
embedded chart in Powerpoint 2003 and initially received the same "server
application can't be found" error.  Then I installed Microsoft OrgChart 2.0
(msoc2.exe) and was able to edit the chart - Powerpoint 2003 launched
Orgchart.exe in a separate window containing the chart.  For some reason
this won't work on the problem system.  I've been logging on to that machine
as Administrator so there shouldn't be a permissions issue.  Orgchart will
run just fine if launched directly.  I'd be grateful if someone could point
me in a specific direction.  Thanks!
