Can't see clipart in main view when I insert it into powerpoint 2.

When I open a recent Powerpoint doc. or start a new one, neither clipart,
background templates or other graphics are visible in the main view window.
You can see where they've been placed as there is a live outline that can be
edited (moved enlarged etc.), but there are no visuals only text. However I
can see all the graphics in the slide thumbnails that run down the side of
the page. Can anyone advise me on how to fix it so I can see/edit
backgrounds, clipart etc. in the main view window? I'm using Windows XP and
Office 2003 Professional.

Make sure that your video driver has been updated recently.  See:

Then, if that doesn't correct the problem, try lowering Hardware Acceleration
all the way.  See:

worked!
