I want to know if I can show a video in continuous mode while at the
same time the slides on the same screen can change such that in one
corner the video can keep playing while I change slides so that once my
talk is over I would have also finished showing the whole video. I
don't want different videos with different slides. Many slides....one
video....on one screen.

Any pointers?

Place the video on the slide master and set it to run automatically.  How
smoothly the slides change depends on how powerful a PC you have.

If using PPT 2003, insert the movie, position and set it to playback as
usual. Then double click the play setting and go to the EFFECT tab. In the
'STOP PLAYING' section put a number in the 'AFTER ___ SLIDES.' Now develop
your additional slides, making sure no content is in the area where the
video will be playing. Done.

I have just added a sample tutorial that demonstrates how a movie can play
through several slides. Feel free to download "Continuous Movie Sample" from
this page: http://tlccreative.com/ppt_tutorials.htm
