  I find that my version of powerpoint offers a "one by one" animation for
the 'fade in' effect.  How can this be done for other effects such as

Per my question to Maurice, I need to know how to do “one-by-one” on
animation schemes other than “fade in” such as "push" or "fade in".  Advice
sought.

I think you are referring to 'Custom Animation' of text within a shape
or textbox. If so, this is available in Powerpoint versions 2002 and
later.

Look up the phrase 'Animate text by letter' in the Help file that comes
with Microsoft Powerpoint.
