No error messages, a box that says "powerpoint cannot open this. it is not a
powerpoint presentation", when it really is.I cannot find anything on my
computer relating to .pps extensions.
Make sure that your 2003 has SP2 installed.

From with in PowerPoint, click on Help | About which will tell you what you
have installed. Help | Check for updates will take you to the Microsoft site
to download and install the upgrades
