.pps extensions

I am new to powerpoint. People send me attachments to e-mails with .pps
extensions, and my powerpoint 2003 won't open them. What am I doing wrong?

Are you receiving any error messages? Make sure that your PowerPoint 2003
has all the updates.

No error messages, a box that says "powerpoint cannot open this. it is not a
powerpoint presentation", when it really is.I cannot find anything on my
computer relating to .pps extensions.

Make sure that your 2003 has SP2 installed.

From with in PowerPoint, click on  Help | About which will tell you what you
have installed. Help | Check for updates will take you to the Microsoft site
to download and install the upgrades
