Opening Document in PPT

When I try to open a document in PPt, I get an error message that reads, "PP
T can't open the type of file represented by c:/..."  There are charts in
this document that are linked to excel.  Any suggestions on what to do?

What kind of document are you trying to open. Is it a PPT presentation?
