At first I tried to detect and repair, I recied the message that detect and repair was sucessful, but when I tried to use the feature package for cd I recieved the same error message. I then tried to reinstalloffice 2003 to it's original state, but upon completion ot that I recieved the same error message. I've had this happen on several systems and have worked with one of MS' support guys on it, and no luck so far. If I come across a fix, I'll post here. I too found the supposed fix via sp1. Before installing it MS tells you to check your version numbers on your software to see if you already have the sp installed. According to my computer, I already have sp2 installed, giving me version 11.0.7969.0 on all my Office Programs. According to MS this means I have an even later service pack installed and therefore shouldn't need the earlier one. Guess I got them via an automatic update. But in any case, I have this error message - same as everyone else, despite being current with my service packs. I had already tried uninstalling and or re-installiing even before coming here. (instructions listed in earlier threads). This is my most recent attempt to find a fix. The only thing I haven't done is to install the service pack1 - but it seems that hasn't worked for others. I personally haven't altered any settings or preferences. I agree about the update. As I think I mentioned, it's happened on several different PCs here. I've reported it to MS, they've had me run through all sorts of things to try to find a fix, no luck. If you have a copy of PPT where the feature's still working, you can package a simple file using the options you want, package to folder rather than directly to CD. Then you can substitute the files you really want to package, do some editing to the bat and list files and burn the CD from that folder. This won't fix up any of your links, unfortunately. If you don't have links, then no problem.
