My first customized PowerPoint 2003 template. Clearly there are a few things
I don't understand.

The Master is OK.

For the other slides, if I want background variability, must it be linked
directly to a user-level text/content layout on a 1:1 basis ??  Here is what
I mean --

I need 2 possible kinds of user selectable backgrounds:

-- A standard uniform background, or

-- Backgrounds that include uniform background PLUS some margin art of full
height photos about 2" from right border.

If the user wants to use border art, each would be different in the slide
deck. These are photos on the border, and each slide deck would use 3-4
different uniform backgrounds with different photos on each.

-- Choice of either of above should not limit user's selection of "Text or
Content Layout," so it would be nice if I did not have to make a 1:1
connection to a secondary slide background and any particular Text or Content
Layout.

Using Microsoft's online training, I understand about a Slide Master. The
online training then talks about using a "title master." However, this seems
to be linked 1:1 to Text and Content Layouts.  If the 1:1 relationship is
true, how would I offer a more flexible use border art or use uniform
background only of any layout??
