How can I fix the "no sound On a Mac" problem?
The pps file has sound on PCs but not on Macs.

I have PowerPoint 2004 for Mac version 11.2.3 (060202) and am running OS X
10.4.6.
I get no sound when I run it either automatically or using the right arrow.

I saved the file, launched PowerPoint, and opened the file so it wouldn't
run automatically. I selected a slide and selected Custom Animation from the
Slide Show menu. I clicked on the slide in the Animation Order box and
noticed the Description box said "No sound, no repeat" on one line. This was
the same no matter which slide I selected.

I do have the full Office 2004 installed.

I've got an almost identical setup & have just tried a few things on this
problem. I transferred a PPT file containing an MP3 file from a PC & it
wouldn't play on the Mac. I then inserted the same file into the PPT on the
Mac & all went well. I then tried another one using a WMV file & was unable
to use it at all on the Mac as it's only readable AFAIK with VLC Player &
Windows Media Player, neither will save it as anything else. There are
probably some things I've seriously overlooked, but it looks like the
workaround is to rebulild the PPT on the Mac & insert the file there. The
probably is a prog. out there which can convert the WMV to a readable one for
the Mac & I'd like to know the answer to this myself.

Regards,

Ian Hutch
