When I'm trying to print out a power point slide it doesn't always print out
the way I see it on my screen.  The format is sometimes completely different.
However, if I email to myself or someone else the document will then be able
to print out properly.  What is the deal?  The slide is not very complex.

Please define "completely different." What exactly is going wrong?

Have you updated your printer driver? Could it be an issue with system
resources? Does it print better after you reboot or if you close down other
extraneous applications you might have open?
