The Text Box use in the Beta 2 Version of PowerPoint needs more work. It is
difficult to use and to make changes after you write something in it. Using
Return once does not lower the second line sufficently and it overwrites the
first line. You have to use Return twice. It is impossible to see the
curser inside the box and therefore very difficult to make changes.

I have not experienced these issues at all. Is it possible you're
experiencing a display problem? You might also try rebooting and see if it
responds any better.
