Mac to PC PP Template Problems

I cannot get Mac PP Templates to work on my PC using Office Pro 2003.

I have inserted the templates in the "Documents and Settings/My User
Name/Application Data/Microsoft/Templates" and they successfully show up
in my "Design" pane when I am creating a new PP presentation, but they
just turn the presentation design blank (if there is a design already
applied) when I click on it.

NOTE: They appear as "PP Presentation" as file type in the above
Template folder. I cannot "save as" .ppt or .pot type files.

Ideas?

Is Office on the PC upgraded with the latest Service Packs?  At least SP2
should be installed.

Did you insert the design objects in the slide master? If you insert them ON
the slide of the template, they will not be copied to each slide.

Best regards,
Ute
