Hi,

We are using PPT 2003 with Win XP.  I have a user working on a
presentation started by someone else.  When she draws a text box the
text is vertical.  She is not using the "Vertical text" icon, just the
normal text box icon.  Does anyone know why this is happening and how
we can get the text box option to work normally?

Kind regards,

Alison

Check that in Format > text box that rotate text 90 degrees is not clicked.

If it is unclick it and the right click the text box and choose "set
autoshape defaults"
