howo I add a gif to my presentation

I have a gif I downloaded.  I want to use it in a presentation, but can not
get it to go anywhere.  Any suggestions

Save the file to your harddrive.  Then open PowerPoint, go to Insert>
Picture> From File, locate the .gif, and click okay.

The .gif should animate properly this way.
