I want to print a collage of individual slides - without the big fat margins
enforced by print/handouts view.

ie in handout view I want 4 slides per page but each slide to maximise the
available page size.  In addition it would be awesome adjust each slide
individually.

Try looking at your printer settings - you may be able to print 4 to a page
and have no margins.

Try this:

Select a slide in Slide Sorter view
Choose Edit, Copy or press Ctrl+C
Switch to normal view and go to a new slide (or a different presentation)
Choose Edit, Paste Special, as PNG or Enhanced Metafile (experiment to see
which works best, makes the smallest file sizes).

Repeat for each slide you want in your collage;  size and arrange to suit.
