Hiding Chart Axis

I am rather inexperienced with charts in powerpoint and haven't figured out
how to hide the chart axis. I inherited a powerpoint presentation template
that has a number of charts. On the screen I can make the value axis
invisible by setting the font color to white. The Display Units dropdown is
set to none and "show display units on chart" is unchecked. However, when
printed in black and white, it reappears (black text) and if I reexamine the
"show display units on chart" box, it is checked.

Can anyone tell me how to hide the axis label on both the screen and when
printed in black and white?

Right-click the axis and choose Clear. If you're using a 3D chart, you'll
need to do that for the walls and gridlines, too.

Thanks for the quick response. Clear helped, but I also needed the "tick
Mark labels" hidden. I eventually found that setting on the Patterns tab of
the Format Axis dialog.
