I am confused by what I have read about the PPS output, autorun and
the PowerPoint viewer.

I was seeking to output my file as PPS with autorun which I can do.

I was undecided about how to get that PPS to auto start on a machine
without PowerPoint installed.

Is it possible?

You need either PowerPoint or the free viewer to play PowerPoint files, whether
PPT or PPS.

Make an AutoRun CD

The smartest thing to do is to include the PowerPoint Viewer on the CD with
your PPS file. Note on the CD to install the PPT Viewer from the CD first
if it is not already on the computer. Then it should autorun just fine. I
normally put a readme file on the CD with specific instructions.

In practice the recipient can just put the CD in his computer. If it
autoruns, no problem. If not, he should insure autorun is set up and PPT
Viewer is on his computer. No PowerPoint program will run without PPT or
the PPT viewer.
