How do I send a powerPoint presentation so that it will run the show
automatically when someone opens the file from their email providers

Go to Save As and in 'Save as type' - select 'PowerPoint Show (*.pps)'

Save it as a PowerPoint Show (*.pps). Either change the three-letter
extension from .ppt to .pps or go into PowerPoint and choose Save As and
change the Save As Type to PowerPoint Show (you might have to scroll down
in the list to see this option).
