I used "insert music and sounds" to add tracks of music to certain slides.
The sounds play perfectly on one computer using XP but will not play on my
laptop that is also using XP.   I disabled all security software since I was
not online but that did not help.

The PPT was stored on my flash drive.  I tried on several other computers
and some worked and others did not.  All were using XP.

What am I doing wrong?

Is the music embedded?

If its a wav file change the setting in Tools > options > General "Link to
files with file size > than" to 50000 and reinsert the sound this will embed
it.
If its an mp3 either download CDex and use Convert > add a riff wav header
to mp2/3 and then embed OR Put tthe mp3 and presentation in a folder, insert
the sound and then save the whole folder.
