Over half the time my screen turns partially green and the computer freezes
up when I attempt to import a movie into Powerpoint.  Any ideas?  In advance,
thanks.

First suggestion is to make sure all updates have been installed.  Check
Office, Windows, Windows Media Player (depending on PPT version) and
DirectX.

If, after updating all these, you still have problems, you may want to try
setting your video hardware acceleration down a few notches and see if it
still errors/locks.
