I am doing a powerpoint presentation and can't get my song files to play in
powerpoint.  I've tried inserting the file as an object, but it won't work.
I don't know if I need to change the type of file it is, or what.

wma files will play unless they have DRM protectection (when ripped from
commercial CDs).
Put the wma file in the same folder as your pres is saved in. Now Insert >
movies and sounds > sounds from file and choose your song. If you want it to
play for several sides you might want to read the sounds sections here:

What happens when you click Insert > Music and Sounds > Sound from File,
search for the sound then click Insert?
Where did the sound file comes from? It may contains DRM (Digital Rights
Management) and hence will not work in PowerPoint.
