Animation

Hello,

I am using PPT 2000 and want to do some simple animation.

I have a slide that is animated but there are two problems.

1. I can't reorder the animations in the task pane. I am in Normal View and
have the Custom Animation window open. I can not get them to drag and drop.
Plus the Order arrows at the bottom are grayed out.

2. I have six Circles with arrows between them. All six circles are animated
and show in the task pane. However, the arrows seem to be fixed to the
background and are not animated. That is, they appear with the blank slide
at the start of the slide show. I can't seem to add them to the animation
list individually either.

Does anyone know what I might try to solve these two issues?

Thanks,

Bob

Sorry to state what may seem obvious but I have no idea how much you know!
Have you got an item selected when you try to use the up / down arrows?

AFAIK you cant use drag & drop in 2000 (not certain as I have 2003)

How have you tried to animate the arrows?

Did that answer the question / help?

Hello John,

My error, I am actually using PPT 2002. The Help section indicates that you
can drag and drop within the animation list.

I am highlighting the animation in the Task Pane. I get a double arrow when
I try to drag and the stop sign when I actually try to drag. So it is
behaving like there is no drag and drop option. I am trying to move #6 to
the #1 spot.

The arrows are odd. I can't seem to select them individually. Probably
something to do with layers. When I do select an arrow, it is actually
selecting the whole diagram. It is as if the arrows are part of the
background. When the slide show starts it should be a blank screen but I get
the all of the arrows on the screen.

Does that give a clue?

Thanks John,

Bob

Hello Again,

I figured out how it works and all is well. Thanks for helping. It seems
that when I started over from scratch, the animation features worked. One
problem was that part of my chart was inside a box while the rest of it was
outside. By removing the boxes surounding the diagram so each item had it's
own box, everything worked.

Thanks Again,

Bob
