I just modified the footer for the master slide by entering text, inserting a small GIF, and deleting the existing fields (<date>, <page>). When I close the master, I can't see the footer. What am I missing, here? Thanks! Here's an update. I inserted a new slide (the 3rd in all, including the title slide) and the text part of my new footer appeared on it. I then deleted the faulty 2nd slide, and the new one did not change.
