Hello, we have a problem: our notebook are equipped with the full version of Office 2003. Now we need to deploy a tool that needs an installation of Office older than Office 2003. Actually it does not really need Office running, but just installed. In particular it need the presence of Powerpoint XP or older: it does not run with Powerpoint 2003. Unfortunately it is not simple to have multiple installation of Office on the same computer, but we really need. Microsoft provides a recipe to install multiple version of Office, starting from the oldest to the newer, but we already have Office 2003 and really cannot collect notebook abroad from people to uninstall Office 2003, install XP, then again 2003. It will cost a mountain of money. Again all we need is PowerPoint XP or older over existing Office 2003. Any idea? I read the link you posted and it just explain how to work with different version of FILES, nothing about having multiple PowerPoint installation. I seem to be reading this a bit differently from the rest ... if I'm mistaken, say so and I'll crawl back into my cave. As I read it, you have software you want to install. Its installer is looking for an older version of PowerPoint, not finding it and refusing to install as a result. You're reasonably certain that it'll work with PowerPoint 2003 if only it would let itself be installed. Does that sound about right? It sounds like you need to fix the tool or find out what it's looking for and supply it. It might just be looking for specific registry entries and/or files. The vendor should be able to tell you. Failing that, have a look here: http://www.sysinternals.com/SystemInformationUtilities.html FileMon and RegMon should be able to monitor the installer and tell you what specific files/registry entries it's seeking. > Actually it does not really need Office running, but just installed.
