custom animations not shown when slide used again

I have several slides that link back to one slide that is a menu, the menu
slide has a animation for all the buttons where the buttons fade into view,
first time you visit the menu it looks fine, after you visit it a second time
it does not show the animations again, it just shows the final location of
the buttons, is there a way to make the animations play back each time I use
a slide?
