Am told "no qualifying product" when loading PowerPoint 2002

I am trying to load PowerPoint 2002 from a CD to my desktop, but after
putting in the product key I get a mesasge saying no qualifying product has
been found on my machine

It sounds to me like you have an upgrade version of powerpoint.

The software installation setup program is trying to find an older version
of powerpoint.

Tip: you can put in CD (or disk) 1 of your old version and (most time) the
software will find it and install quite happily.
