Thanks TAJ - I thought of that and had already put a small area in bottom
right corner to do just that BUT it would be a nuisance to have a whole page
invisible rectangle covering everything while editing the slides.
If I rely on the small rectagle I am sure to unthinkingly click elsewhere
during a slide show!
Yes, I can enlarge the small rectangle to full page when I have finished
construction but I just hoped there was a way of asigning a hyperlink to a
whole slide as one can to an object.
Please let me know if you have any further thoughts.

Have you thought about using a "normal" next slide click and then giving the
next slide a MOUSEOVER hyperlink (full slide rectangle) to the slide in
question

Did that answer the question / help?

Make the rectangle full slide size, then use Send to Back (off the right
click menu or the Draw--> Order) to send the rectangle all the way to the
back. Your other objects will still be clickable, but you will be able to
click any blank area and go to the slide you want. (To make it even easier,
you can put the rectangle on the slide master, then do the send to back. It
will be behind everything else you add to the slide.)
Another option is to remove the check from Advance on Mouse Click from the
Transitions Task Pane. Without this option, you won't go anywhere from the
slide unless you click on a specifically linked object.

Thanks John and Kathy.
I suppose I shall have to go along the full size invisible object - just
seems messy and a pity mouse click is not available in the slide itself.
I really am grateful for your prompt help.
