PowerPoint .ppt file link on html page

When a user on my web site selects the .ppt file, I want the PowerPoint
program to open. Right now when the user selects the link, They have the
option to save or open. When it is opened it opens in the browser.

Control how the browser opens PowerPoint files

Basically, the deal is that it's up to settings at the user end.  Unless you
can control their browser settings, you probably can't force the issue.
